Names that describe a business in a word or two

We keep no public list. A list invites speculators and tells nobody anything about fit; we would rather match one name with one company. Here is the shape of what we hold.

Trade and town

plumber + city .com

A service and the place it is offered. These suit operators with several vans or several locations in one metro area, where the address can go on every vehicle and every sign.

Product categories

what it is .com

The ordinary word for a thing people buy. Useful to an independent brand that makes the product, or to a retailer that wants to be the obvious address for it.

Services said out loud

the job itself .com

Names that match the phrase a customer uses when they ring round for quotes. Easy to spell over the phone and hard to mistype.

Outdoor and lifestyle

the activity .com

Words from the gear, travel and outdoor trades, where much of our attention goes. Good for a brand moving from a long or hyphenated address to the one its customers guess first.

Looking for a particular address?

Type it in and you will land on the enquiry form with the name already filled. If it is ours, you will hear the price. If it is not, you will hear that too, and sometimes we know who owns it.

What we leave alone

We do not offer names built on another company's trademark, and we do not approach a business about a name that is its own brand in a different extension. If you think one of our names touches your mark, write to us and we will look at it seriously.

Why .com

It is the extension people add without thinking. A customer who hears your trade and your town will type .com at the end, and a name that meets that guess keeps the enquiry with you rather than with a competitor who owns it.
