Exact-match .com names

The address your business is already called

Fairleads Advisors holds .com names that say exactly what a company sells or where it trades, and offers each one to the business it fits. One price, set out plainly, and a transfer that runs through licensed escrow from start to finish.

Why the name

On a sailing boat, a fairlead is the small ring or block that a rope passes through so it pulls straight and does not rub or catch. We liked it as a picture of the job: taking one good name from where it sits now to the company it belongs with, with nothing fraying on the way.

The practice is small on purpose. Every name is looked after by one person, and every note you receive from us was written for your company in particular.

What we hold

Plain, typeable .com addresses: a trade and a town, a product people search for by its ordinary name, a service a customer would say out loud. Names like these save a business from explaining its own web address on the phone, on a van door or on a sign.

We do not publish a list. If one of our names describes you, you will usually have heard from us already; if you are curious about a particular address, ask.

How it runs

You tell us whether the name is of interest. We give you a single figure rather than a starting bid. If it suits, a short written agreement sets out the terms, a licensed escrow service holds your payment, and we are paid only after the name has been pushed or transferred to you.

Most transfers are complete within one to two weeks of a signed agreement.

Who answers

Gemma Ostrander runs the practice from an office on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. She reads and answers every enquiry herself, and she is more interested in where your company is going than in talking up a price.
